Castelao Arena opens with Imply® technology
The Castelao Arena, first stadium in Brazil ready for the 2014 World Cup, was inaugurated on December 16th in Fortaleza. The event was attended by the president Dilma Rousseff, the governor of Ceara, Cid Gomes, the Sports Minister Aldo Rebelo, and over 20 thousand people.
With capacity for more than 63,000 fans, the Castelao will receive 6 games of the 2014 World Cup and 3 games of the Confederations Cup. The new stadium has quality superior to FIFA standards, and has two modern Imply® Full Color Panels. With the imposing dimensions of 12.8 meters (42 feet) wide and 8 meters (26 ¼ feet) high, the panels were installed in a 40 meters (131 ¼ feet) height structure. Its high brightness LED’s display the score, pictures and videos with high quality.
After cutting the ribbon for the official opening and kick the inaugural ball that will be used in the Confederations Cup, President Dilma turned her attention to the Imply® FullColor Panel. Through the modern panel, FIFA president Joseph Blatter sent a video message to greet the Brazilian authorities and the people of Ceara for the delivery of the Castelao Arena. President Dilma met all the internal and external structure of Castelao and pointed: “The Castelao, in every sense, shows to Brazil that we are capable of winning on the field and off the field. [The Castelao] shows that the Brazilian is able to overcome obstacles and deliver a work of this kind. ”
